In this guide, we will cover how to enable or disable 2FA, why it is crucial for your account security, and how to troubleshoot common 2FA-related issues.

To enhance the security of your account, we strongly recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This process requires a secondary verification step—typically a time-sensitive code sent to your mobile device—whenever you log in.
✔ Step 1: Log into your Service Club Vendor Dashboard
✔ Step 2: Navigate to “Security Settings”
✔ Step 3: Select “Enable Two-Factor Authentication”
✔ Step 4: Choose Your 2FA Method:
Authenticator App (Recommended): Use apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy.
SMS Verification: A one-time code will be sent to your registered mobile number.
✔ Step 5: Scan the QR Code or Enter the Secret Key (if using an authenticator app).
✔ Step 6: Enter the Verification Code Generated by Your 2FA Method to confirm activation.
✔ Step 7: Save Your Backup Codes – These can help you regain access if you lose your 2FA device.
Once enabled, you will be required to enter a one-time code from your chosen 2FA method whenever you log in.

While we do not recommend disabling 2FA, some situations (such as changing your authentication method) may require turning it off temporarily.
✔ Step 1: Log into your Vendor Dashboard and go to "Security Settings."
✔ Step 2: Select “Disable Two-Factor Authentication.”
✔ Step 3: Enter Your Account Password to confirm identity verification.
✔ Step 4: Enter a One-Time Code from Your 2FA Method to complete the process.
⚠️ Important: If you disable 2FA, your account will be more vulnerable to unauthorized access. Always re-enable it as soon as possible.

Even if someone manages to steal your password (through phishing, hacking, or data breaches), they cannot access your account without the additional security code from your 2FA method.

Your Service Club vendor account contains payment details, invoices, and personal data. Without 2FA, unauthorized users could gain access to your banking details, earnings reports, and financial statements.

Many financial and service platforms require vendors to use 2FA as part of best security practices. Enabling 2FA ensures compliance with security standards and reduces the risk of fraud.

If hackers try multiple incorrect password attempts, they may temporarily lock you out of your account. 2FA prevents this by requiring additional verification before access is granted, reducing the likelihood of an account being compromised.

Despite its benefits, 2FA can sometimes create issues if you lose access to your authentication method. Below are solutions for common 2FA-related problems.

If you lose your phone or change devices and no longer have access to your authenticator app:
✔ Step 1: Use Backup Codes – When you enabled 2FA, you were given a set of backup codes. Find these and use one to log in.
✔ Step 2: If You Don’t Have Backup Codes, Contact Service Club Support Immediately. Provide your registered email, phone number, and any other verification details to regain access.
✔ Step 3: Once Your 2FA Is Reset, Re-enable It on Your New Device.

If you use SMS-based 2FA and don’t receive a text message, try these solutions:
✔ Check Your Network Connection – Ensure your phone has signal and is not in airplane mode.
✔ Restart Your Phone – This may help refresh network reception.
✔ Check for Service Delays – Some mobile carriers delay text message delivery during peak hours.
✔ Try Requesting a New Code – Click the "Resend Code" option in your login screen.
✔ Contact Support If the Issue Persists – If you're not receiving SMS codes consistently, consider switching to an authenticator app for more reliability.

If you enter a code from your authenticator app and receive an error message saying it’s invalid:
✔ Check the Time Settings on Your Phone – If your phone’s clock is out of sync, your 2FA app may generate incorrect codes. Enable automatic time synchronization in your phone settings.
✔ Ensure You’re Using the Correct Code – 2FA codes expire every 30 seconds; always enter the most recent code displayed.
✔ Restart Your Authentication App – Close and reopen the app to refresh the generated codes.

If you've lost all access to your 2FA method and backup codes, you will need to request a manual reset from Service Club Support.
✔ Contact Vendor Support through the Vendor Dashboard, Email, or Live Chat.
✔ Provide account verification details such as:
Your registered email address
Your last completed job or invoice details
Any past login details
✔ The support team will temporarily disable 2FA and guide you through setting up a new method.

✔ Use an Authenticator App Instead of SMS – Apps like Google Authenticator are more secure and reliable than SMS, which can be intercepted.
✔ Store Backup Codes in a Safe Place – Keep a copy offline or in a password manager to regain access if needed.
✔ Enable 2FA on Your Email Account Too – If hackers access your email, they could reset your Service Club password. Protect your email with 2FA as well.
✔ Regularly Update Your Recovery Contact Information – Ensure your email and phone number in the Vendor Dashboard are up to date in case recovery is needed.
✔ Be Aware of Phishing Scams – Service Club will never ask for your 2FA code or password via email or phone. If you receive a suspicious request, report it immediately.
